The cast of Party Today (Panic Tomorrow)
The Second City is presenting its 80th Mainstage Revue, Party Today, Panic Tomorrow, opening Wednesday, August 23rd for an extended engagement in Toronto.
Directed by alum Leslie Seiler and Karen Parker – the theatre’s first all-female directing team – Party Today, Panic Tomorrow taps into the farcical, often absurd modern-day dilemmas that have shaped our collective experience in 2017. This brand-new sidesplitting sketch revue evokes the burnout of political exhaustion, and features disputes over board games, the settling of scores with dance-offs, and even taking life advice from a giant banana.
Created and performed by Mainstage cast members Ann Pornel (Baroness Von Sketch Show), Brandon Hackett (This Hour Has 22 Minutes), Colin Munch (Uncalled For) and Devon Hyland (Stay Out of the Desert) – along with debut Mainstage cast members Allana Reoch (Panacea!) and Nadine Djoury (Newborn Moms) – this slick performance promises audiences a night of satire, sketches and farcical fun.
Returning creatives include Musical Director Lee Cohen, Set Designer Camellia Koo, Stylist Melanie McNeill, and Lighting Designer Christina Cicko, while Georgia Priestley-Brown joins as Stage Manager.
The Second City is a world-class theatre company with resident stages in in Toronto and Chicago, training centres in Toronto, Chicago and Los Angeles, and touring companies that literally tour the world. The company is also 100% Canadian owned.
